This AppleScript, written for Aperture 1.5.6 and Mac OS X 10.5.1 (I feel I should specify that now that we’ve discovered some interesting things with scripting Aperture on 10.5) will extract all of the master images from exported Projects. You select the Project bundle and a destination folder and the script does the rest.

We went to see Cloverfield over the weekend. All of the reviews aside, I wanted to see it because I love monster/disaster movies. While not usually Oscar-worthy, movies like Independence Day, Godzilla, and Deep Impact are always a good time. Unfortunately, Cloverfield was actually hard to watch. Not bad, but hard to watch - Gina [...]

Well, with the current pricing of the Sharp Aquos line and the free Blu-Ray player and 0% financing at Circuit City we finally made the plunge.
We are now the proud owners of a new HDTV and Blu-Ray player. Technically we don’t have the TV yet, but the Blu-Ray player sure does play a mean [...]

As a 40D owner, I can say that I am thrilled with my camera but not very happy with Canon. First the price drop (after I bought the 40D) and now they announce a 12MP Rebel.

I posted our photos of [...]

We’re thinking of going HD and let me just say that it is a terrible thing to do. Actually going HD may be fine, but thinking of it makes my head hurt. I asked some colleagues and friends for input and got a lot of info- but one thing kept coming through: you have to [...]

We just got a PB teen catalog in the mail (shows you that Pottery Barn has no idea who we are) and Gina immediately took note of how many Apple products show up in it. In fact, practically no electronic device is not Apple or iPod-related.
Here is her unofficial tally-

11 iPod nanos
22 iPod [...]

Aperture’s Project-based workflow is great. I like to keep my Projects (including masters managed or referenced) scaled to fit onto a DVD. I’ll even split larger Projects so that when I export them they can easily be backed up to disc. I try to take a snapshot of a Project when I know that I [...]
