Going to try Viveza
I’ve been poring through my Aperture library to find my best photos. My goal is to reevaluate everything and start a fresh portfolio. I’ll restitch panoramas, rerender HDRs (probably a lot better) and retouch images. I expect the Dodge & Burn tool will get a lot of use and Noise Ninja has a lot of probable use as well.
I’ve avoided buying most Aperture plugins mostly because they’re really freakin’ expensive. I have issues with paying more for plugins than the thing that they plug into. One such plugin is Nik Software’s Viveza. It is part of a whole suite of tools that seem overpriced, but it is definitely the one that gets all of the attention and has received some glowing reviews from people whose opinions I trust.
So I’m going to try Viveza for 15 days to see what it can do. Hopefully I won’t find it useful and won’t have to make any tough purchasing decisions in a couple of weeks.

I’ve been looking at the Nik tools for some time as well. Not that this is cheap but if you get all of them in a bundle you “save” $450.

Playing with Silver Efex and Color Efex… I wish I owned them. I’ve read good things about Dfine compared to Noise Ninja too….
